It's June 1st at 1:30pm in Dallas, Texas and summer has arrived. I've got one hour at home alone before I dash off to pick up kids and do the Mommy-thing for a while! I am sitting by the pool working on my tan, while I work on my business. It's true, I am writing this article, responding to email, doing some research for a new project and on and on. I am ready for summer, ready for my kids to be out of school, ready for our schedules to relax and soften a bit.
This doesn't mean I won't be busy, crazy busy! I love being busy (drives my husband crazy.) I have my hands and my creative imagination in multiple projects at any given time. It's what feeds me and keeps me going, it fills my soul and I work hard to make sure there is time and energy left for kids and husband. I learned that lesson the hard way. I had my priorities all mixed up for a few years. My husband and I are both work-aholics, no doubt about it. But I am learning to be a life-aholic, addicted to the joy of living, creativity and building new things.
At my daughter's elementary school, all the children quickly learn what the three R's stand for and no, we are not talking about reading, writing and 'rithmetic. The three R's stand for Respectful, Responsible and Ready. I have always been impressed with this teaching tool and how both students and teachers embrace and model these great principles. Then add to that two of the most delightful characteristics of children, Enthusiasm and Curiosity and voila: you have the 5 BE-Attitudes of any successful entrepreneur. I call them BE-Attitudes because every successful, fulfilled person that I have met embraces each of these qualities. A positive, can-do attitude drives our actions and decisions and leads to business success coupled with a balanced life, but without responsibility and respect towards self and others, no one will care.
Yes I know the saying is “Dreaming your life away” but I’m telling you dreaming your life into existence really works! Of course you have to do something other than sitting in a corner chanting or swinging a pendulum. Life does require you add the physical element to the dream to make it a reality. How do I know this works? Because I have seen it work in my life and if I hadn’t been aware of what I had been asking for I might have missed it!
If you have been to my www.dedemurcermoffett.com site lately you have seen that I am going to realize one my childhood dreams on June 26th of this year. I am singing for the New York Yankees at Yankee stadium! Yes, yes, yes dreams do come true even if you derail them for long periods of time! It took me a long time to see this dream realized in years but if I look at the fact that I just started singing again seriously in 2009 when I produced my CD it hasn’t been that long! Since 2005 my husband and I have traveled to New York City to see friends and family even taking in a game or two at Yankee Stadium. Every time I thought about being the one down on the field singing the Anthem and soaking up that moment of extreme energy and power.
Magic! That’s what happens when you step into who you are and take that out into the world. We witnessed a lot of this kind of magic last year at the Snap Out Of It! Conference. It was inspiring. It was motivating. It was thought-provoking. All this and so much more. It was magical.
When I was up on stage, I told the audience, “One thing I’ve learned is you show up. You show up and you trust that you already have everything you need in that moment. That can be scary at first, but when I do that, it works.”
What I have discovered is that this journey, this deep process of evolution and transformation that takes place is the most powerful personal and spiritual growth and development program you could ever enroll in. The journey is immensely physical, emotional, mental and spiritual, all at the same time.
It’s very powerful to witness others doing that which you feel called to do, to get into their presence, to experience their energy. We have a gift waiting there for us to reach out and grab it. It’s the gift of others who have gone before us, have walked the path we now are ready to walk, and they are showing us the way. They are encouraging us and coaching and mentoring us, and they are sharing their stories with us. What a gift that is.
By far, a big part of the reward of this journey for me is the people I have spent time with and the people I have chosen to guide me along the way, and that continues to be true. I plug in.
This is your opportunity to plug in. Mark your calendar. Commit to yourself by registering for the event. Then show up. Make magic with us.

We all have times in our lives when we are scared or stuck, when we have forgotten who we really are and what we are truly capable of. We get so caught up in all the roles we are playing and the ways we are accommodating everyone who needs us to be this or do that, and we lose sight of who we really are.
Then along comes a moment when someone reaches out and reminds us, when we catch even the slightest glimpse of that spark within us. Someone says, hey, I’m here, and I’m doing this thing that you want to do, and it’s working. Let me tell you my story. Let me show you how.
You may not see an obvious link between self-care and your business, but the direct relationship is there and it is critical to business growth and success. I know this from personal experience. In 2006, my husband and I made a firm commitment to grow our magazine publishing business. Little did I know, that the increased stress and challenges of growing my business would cause me to grow my body, in a negative way. I gained almost 40 pounds in under two years. I lost a parent during that period as well. Life seemed out of my control, although it never was. I felt buried by what was happening around me and I let my fear bury itself under layers of weight. It is 4 years later and I am just now making a serious effort to take the weight off. I am about half way there but my commitment to weight loss has changed dramatically in the past 8 months.
Wow what a year it has been since the first Snap Out of It! Conference in 2010. So many women have contacted me and relayed their stories of how being at the conference inspired them and gave them the confidence and clarity they needed to move through a situation that had been holding them back.
When women gather something magical always happens. We inspire and encourage each other to keep going. We recharge and refuel one another to get back in the game and keep going!
Sometimes it is one sentence or phrase from one speaker that flips the switch and ignites the fire you need to get you moving towards a life long dream. Sometimes it’s seeing someone else doing what you want to do that confirms for you, “if they can do it, I can too!”
I am so excited about what this 2011 Conference will bring and I have assembled a fantastic group of women to tell their stories and share their best methods and techniques for Waking Up, Standing Up and Snapping Out of It! Join us for two powerful days!
I’m excited to meet you!
